How to Add Kingdom Connect to Your Home Screen (PWA Install Guide)
Kingdom Connect works like a native app on your phone or tablet — without needing the App Store or Google Play. As a Progressive Web App (PWA), you can add it directly to your home screen in under a minute. Here is how to do it on every major device.
What is a Progressive Web App?
A Progressive Web App (PWA) is a website that behaves like a native mobile app. When you install Kingdom Connect as a PWA you get:
- A dedicated icon on your home screen
- Full-screen, app-like experience with no browser address bar
- Faster load times thanks to intelligent caching
- Automatic updates — nothing to download or update manually
- Works on poor connections and caches previously visited pages
- Completely free — no App Store account needed
iPhone & iPad (Safari)
On Apple devices you must use Safari. Chrome and other iOS browsers do not currently support the Add to Home Screen PWA install on iOS.
- Open Safari and go to kingdomconnect.uk.
- Tap the Share button — the icon that looks like a box with an arrow pointing upwards. On iPhone it sits in the centre of the bottom toolbar. On iPad it is at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down in the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
- The name will pre-fill as Kingdom Connect. Tap Add in the top-right corner.
- Kingdom Connect will appear on your home screen. Tap it to open in full-screen mode.
Supported on iOS 11.3 and above. Full PWA features require iOS 16.4 or later.
Android — Google Chrome
Chrome on Android has excellent PWA support and will often prompt you to install automatically.
- Open Google Chrome and visit kingdomconnect.uk.
- Look for an Install app or Add to Home screen banner at the bottom of the screen — tap it if it appears.
- If no banner appears, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of Chrome.

- Tap Add or Install to confirm. Kingdom Connect will appear on your home screen and in your app drawer.
Supported on Android 8 and above with Chrome 73 or later.

Quick Access Shortcuts
Once installed, you can long-press the Kingdom Connect icon on Android or use 3D Touch on iPhone to access quick shortcuts directly from your home screen:
- Find Churches — browse local churches instantly
- Find Events — discover Christian events near you
- Find Venues — search rooms and spaces for hire
Troubleshooting
If you do not see the install option, try the following:
- Clear your browser cache and reload the page.
- Make sure you are using a supported browser — Safari on iOS, Chrome or Samsung Internet on Android.
- On iPhone, confirm you are using Safari specifically — not Chrome, Firefox, or any other browser.
- Ensure your device software is up to date.
- Try browsing the site for a minute before checking the menu again — some browsers wait briefly before showing the install prompt.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Kingdom Connect available on the App Store or Google Play?
No — and that is by design. Kingdom Connect is a Progressive Web App, which means you install it directly from your browser without needing an App Store account. It works on any modern device and operating system.
Does it work offline?
Yes, partially. Kingdom Connect caches key pages and assets so previously visited content is available even on a poor or no connection. You will need an internet connection to load new churches, events, and venue listings.
Will I get updates automatically?
Yes. Because Kingdom Connect is a web app, all improvements and new features are delivered automatically in the background. There is nothing to download or update manually.
Does it cost anything?
Installing and using Kingdom Connect is completely free. You do not need an App Store account or any subscription to install the PWA.
Is it safe to install?
Completely. Kingdom Connect is served exclusively over HTTPS. No sensitive personal data is stored on your device and no special device permissions are requested beyond what a standard website uses.
How do I uninstall it?
iPhone and iPad: Long-press the icon, tap Remove App,
then tap Delete from Home Screen.
Android: Long-press the icon and drag it to Uninstall,
or tap the info icon and select Uninstall.
Desktop Chrome or Edge: Open the app, click the three-dot menu,
then click Uninstall.
I installed it but it still opens in the browser — why?
On iPhone this usually means the page was added from Chrome or Firefox rather than Safari. Remove the icon and repeat the steps using Safari. On Android, ensure you used the Install app option rather than simply bookmarking the page.
Does it use a lot of storage on my device?
No. Kingdom Connect is very lightweight. The installed PWA typically uses less than 5MB of device storage for cached assets, far less than a typical native app.
